On December 31, 2021, the 80,000 semi-submersible vessel "Xin Yao Hua" for COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers Co., Ltd, built by Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited, successfully completed the sea trial and dive test and returned to the shipyard. The ship is integrated with the main propulsion system by CSIC 704th Research Institute. Noris provided the total solution for the main propulsion remote control system.
After the 50,000 semi-submersible vessel “Xiang An Kou” was built by Guangzhou Shipyard International Company in the first half year of 2021, Noris again, provided the main propulsion remote control solution for COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers Co., Ltd 80,000 semi-submersible vessel.
“Xin Yao Hua” with total length of 255 meters, width of 57 meters, is designed to dive to a depth of 30.5 meters. The vessel is a four-engine, two-propeller configuration with four 6000 kW motors providing propulsion power.

Noris solution for the main propulsion remote control system for the vessel "Xin Yaohua" includes control handles, display panels, and gauges,in the local, Engine Control Console, Main Bridge Console, After Bridge Control Console, port side and starboard consoles. Four inverter motors can be started and stopped simultaneously at any control position. Also equipped with an electric axis handle with electric axis synchronization with the control function. Handle positions of all control positions including the central console, Main Bridge Console, After Bridge Control Console and both Wing port side and starboard side can be synchronized, thus achieving bumpless transfer and infinitely variable speed change between the positions. The master-slave relationship of the handle can also be used to control the speeed increase and decrease of the four motors at the same time, precisely guaranteeing the ship's requirements for speed stability.

Based on system security and stability considerations, two redundant CANBus  are used for communication between the handle for each control position, the main control module, and the CPU module. Main propulsion remote control system is also equipped with NFU control, so that the crew can quickly switch to NFU control if the FU system fails. The main propulsion remote control system supplied by Noris for the vessel "Xin Yao Hua" has passed various trials and tests arranged by the shipyard and ship owner. Also, the function and performance of the system meet the design requirements of the vessel.

During the commissioning and sea trial period of more than three weeks, our  service engineers actively cooperated with the shipyard's work plan and inspection arrangement. Overcoming the problems of short commissioning period, multiple system components and heavy trial tasks, our engineers outstandingly completed the commissioning and trial tasks with many consecutive overnight inspections.
